Getting StartedPrerequisites

Prerequisites

Everything you need before your first day on Clarity.

Clarity is fully web-based, so any modern Mac or Windows PC with a supported browser works. No software installation required. You can also access Clarity from an iPad or Android tablet for floor use.

  • Mac: macOS (current and recent versions)
  • Windows: Windows 10 or later
  • iPad: iPadOS (Safari or Chrome)
  • Android: Android tablet with Chrome

Clarity runs in the browser, so the exact OS version matters less than keeping your browser up to date.

Receipt printer: Any standard thermal receipt printer connected to your workstation.

Jewelry label printer (choose one):

  • ZPL-compatible printer — Zebra or Datamax recommended
  • Dymo LabelWriter with 30373 Jewelry Labels

RFID label printer (optional):

  • Zebra ZD621R paired with an RFID scanner — required only if your store uses RFID inventory tracking

Clarity supports the most common label printers used in the jewelry industry. Contact Clarity support  if you need help confirming compatibility with a printer you already own.

An IPEVO Document Camera is recommended for capturing clean, consistent item photos directly from your workstation. A smartphone camera also works if you prefer uploading photos manually.

Clarity includes integrated payment processing with competitive rates. Compatible terminals are provided through Clarity’s payment integration — no third-party terminal setup required. Contact Clarity support  during onboarding to confirm which terminal will be shipped to your store.

RFID is optional. If your store wants to use RFID for fast inventory counts, you’ll need:

  • Zebra ZD621R label printer (for printing RFID tags)
  • RFID scanner (paired with the printer above)

If you’re not sure whether RFID is right for your store, start without it — you can add it later without disrupting your existing inventory.

  • QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) — connect this early so sales data flows automatically from day one
  • GIA / EGLUSA / Rapaport — required only if your store sells certified diamonds and wants to pull grading reports directly into Clarity
